Our NYC Pastry Crawl

Cherry Bombe HQ is based in New York City, and we never get tired of bakery-hopping around Lower Manhattan, where our office is, especially when the treats and the talent are top-tier! From cakes to croissants to cookies, these female-fueled spots are some of our faves. If you're in the city, be sure to stop by and say Team Cherry Bombe sent you.

BÁNH BY LAUREN

42 Market Street | @banhbylauren

Lauren Tran’s Bánh by Lauren brings a modern Vietnamese twist to the NYC pastry scene. Her dreamy creations—think lychee raspberry macarons, steamed rice cakes, and pandan coconut chiffon cake—are deeply rooted in tradition but always full of surprise. Lauren started her bakery concept as a pop-up during the pandemic and opened her brick and mortar last year, which has had a line out the door ever since!

ELBOW BREAD

1 Ludlow Street | @elbowludlow

Zoë Kanan is breaking—and baking—new ground on the Lower East Side with Elbow Bread, her modern twist on Jewish comfort carbs. Think barley tea bialys, schmaltzy scallion pockets, and croissant-level challah honey buns. Don’t sleep on the sweet potato pretzels, already a cult fave.

FROM LUCIE

263 E. 10th Street | @fromlucienyc

Lucie Franc de Ferriere’s cakes are what garden dreams are made of—whimsical, romantic, and beautifully adorned with fresh flowers. At her sunny East Village shop, the French-born baker serves up seasonal bakes that feel like little works of art. Whether it’s a lemon olive cake with lavender swiss meringue buttercream or her gluten-free carrot cake with fromage frais, everything at From Lucie is almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

HANI'S

67 Cooper Square | @hanisbakerynyc

New Yorkers are obsessed with this modern American bakery that opened last fall. It's the brainchild of Miro Uskokovic, who worked in pastry at Gramercy Tavern for a decade, and his wife, Shilpa Uskokovic, an editor at Bon Appétit. The bakery is named after Miro's mother, who was affectionately known as Hani (prounced like "honey"). You can expect to find decadent items like cookie butter monkey bread, shakshuka danish, pistachio tiramisu doughnuts, and hibiscus rose morning buns. Their menu changes often, so check out their Instagram for the latest and greatest treats.

LADURÉE

398 W Broadway | @ladureeus

The OG of pastel perfection, Ladurée is always a must-visit. The SoHo outpost of the famous French brand brings Parisian elegance to NYC, thanks to the lovely interiors and a pastry case filled with macarons in flavors like rose, pistachio, and sea salt caramel. Bonus: the dreamy tea salon and garden make it the ultimate spot for an afternoon treat.

LADY WONG PASTRY & CAKES

332 E 9th Street | @ladywongpastry

Strawberry yuzu mille crêpes, pandan chiffon, and black sesame mochi cake? Yes, please! Lady Wong was founded by Seleste Tan and Mogan Anthony, who are bringing Southeast Asian flavors to the pastry case in the coolest way possible. Their sleek East Village spot blends tradition, innovation, and just the right amount of nostalgia.

L’APPARTEMENT 4F

119 West 10th Street | @lappartement4f

What started as a pandemic-era apartment bakery is now one of NYC’s most beloved boulangeries. Ashley and Gautier Coiffard's L’Appartement 4F is known for its pillowy croissants (don’t sleep on the croissant cereal), kouign-amann, financiers, chocolate chip cookies, and baguettes that are some of the best this side of the Atlantic. Their flagship location is in Brooklyn but they recently opened up a window in the West Village.

LEVAIN

340 Lafayette Street | @levainbakery

Levain is legendary for its soft-centered cookies the size of softballs, and founders Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald wouldn’t have it any other way. What started as a tiny UWS shop has grown into a cookie empire, but the classics—chocolate chip walnut, dark chocolate peanut butter chip—still hit like home.

LIBRAE BAKERY

35 Cooper Square | @libraebakery

This gem in NoHo is where Middle Eastern flavors meet modern sourdough magic. Co-founded by Dona Murad-Gerschel, Librae turns out za’atar labneh morning buns, loomi babka buns, tahini chocolate chip cookies, and cardamom-scented everything in a space that’s equal parts warm and chic. Everyone loves the rose pistachio croissant for a reason.

LYSÉE

44 E 21st Street | @lysee.nyc

Chef Eunji Lee is behind Lysée, a jewel box of a pastry gallery/boutique where Korean ingredients and French technique come together beautifully. Try her signature Lysée cake (a rice-based mousse with pecan sablé) and Corn (a mousse cake where every component is infused with corn). Everything on the menu is really a work of art.

MAMAN

239 Centre Street | @_mamannyc_

Part café and part bakery, Maman was started by Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte. Inspired by French country kitchens and cozy childhood memories, their locations serve up nutty chocolate chip cookies, quiches, and lavender lattes in a beautiful setting. You’ll definitely want to linger.
