CHERRY BOMBE 100:
Andrea Reusing is the chef and owner of one of our favorite restaurants in the South: Lantern in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. But she’s more than a terrific chef; she is an advocate for farmers, children, and food policy change. Andrea is the founder of Kitchen Patrol, Lantern’s project to improve children's access to quality food through weekly cooking classes. She also serves on the board of the Center for Environmental Farming Systems and chairs the James Beard Foundation’s Impact Advisory Committee. Named the James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef Southeast in 2011, Reusing also leads the restaurant and rooftop raw bar at The Durham, where she is busy reviving American melting pot and hotel classics. Her cookbook, Cooking in the Moment: A Year of Seasonal Recipes, was named a notable cookbook by The New York Times.
