CHERRY BOMBE 100:
When the #MeToo movement revealed just some of the outrageous ways women in the hospitality industry have been treated for years, Erin Fairbanks was determined to change things. She, along with Elizabeth Meltz and Liz Murray, founded Women in Hospitality United—an organization that aims to build community, empower members through training and advocacy, set new standards for equity, and revolutionize the hospitality industry. In September of this year, Women in Hospitality United hosted Solution Sprint, a first-of-its-kind initiative that placed stakeholders from across the industry into groups and set them on a mission to create solutions to some of the community’s biggest challenges. Participants then took these solutions and put them into practice. Erin is also the chief operator of social impact firm GROUT Consulting, and was the executive director of Heritage Radio Network, the world’s pioneer food radio station.
