Nina Compton, the chef and St. Lucia native, is heating up the New Orleans food scene with her two hot spots, Compère Lapin and Bywater American Bistro, and her very personal cuisine that blends Caribbean touches with modern, seasonal ingredients. How did Nina wind up in NOLA? She competed in the New Orleans season of Top Chef, fell in love with the country’s most colorful city, and decided to stay. Nina took home the James Beard Foundation award for Best Chef South earlier this year.
