Sabrina De Sousa and Chef Alissa Wagner are the co-founder of Dimes, a tiny but influential restaurant empire at the border of Chinatown and the Lower East Side in New York City. The Dimes world consists of an all-day cafe, a take-out spot, a small mindfully-curated market, and an apothecary line. Alissa believes in celebrating the inherent beauty of food by creating dishes that are approachable, nourishing, and imbued with a sense of surprise and whimsy. Sabrina, meanwhile, celebrates the fact that Dimes is more than a collection of food businesses. It’s a community inspired by art, design, and activism.
