Owner Maiko Kyogoku and Executive Chef Emily Yuen met at Boulud Sud where Yuen was Sous Chef and Kyogoku was Director of Private Dining. Yuen has cooked at DB Bistro (Singapore), La Gavroche (London), and Vue de Monde (Australia). Bessou opened in 2016 and features modern Japanese comfort food inspired by Kyogoku’s family recipes.
