Katie has a unique understanding of the food industry with experience as a professional chef, recipe developer, photographer, and consultant. Katie has worked in commercial and private kitchens, led creative strategy at one of NYC’s top hospitality firms, concept developed Muchaaachos, an Argentinian restaurant in Miami, and has shot for leading chefs like Marcus Samuelsson, Joel Roubuchon, restaurants including Le’Atelier and Le Jardinier in Miami, Arca in Tulum, as well as for magazines like Bon Appetit, Food & Wine, and Condé Nast Traveler.
In 2019, Katie moved to Mexico City and discovered that Mexico was the birthplace of vanilla. Her passion for cooking and baking inspired her to create Vaya, a handmade Mexican vanilla brand to tell the origin story of the world’s most beloved spice.
