Jess!

My Home Base

Chicago, Illinois, is my home. Before COVID I spent a lot of time with my family in California and working in the Dominican Republic.

My BLOG

Big Delicious Life. I created it to help people who may struggle a bit in finding balance to eat and live better. My goal is to share healthy-ish recipes and lifestyle content that inspires people to live in a big and delicious way.

what I’m known for

Being fearless. When I was 24, I felt stuck in my first real adult job so I dropped everything, moved to the Dominican Republic, and co-founded the Mariposa DR Foundation. It’s a non-profit that works to end generational poverty by educating and empowering girls. Those girls taught me so much, most importantly to just jump in and go for it.

How I’m Doing

I’m doing well, all things considered. I created my blog when the pandemic hit because I was getting tons of calls from family and friends asking for recipe ideas. Big Delicious Life grew very quickly. I'm grateful for all of the support, and very excited about making it a full time career!

Favorite thing in my pantry

My pantry looks like the supermarket but I would have to say beans are my favorite. They're affordable, versatile, and good for you.

essential kitchen tool

I can't imagine life without my cobalt blue Le Creuset cast iron skillet. I use it every single day.

Squad Shoutout

Tennielle Clark from the She Speaks Bougie podcast. She invited me to be a guest on her show over the summer, and we instantly had a connection. Since then, we've been accountability partners and supporting each other in our respective creator journeys. She's just amazing, and I can't wait til we can meet in person!
