SHOPPING

The famous Paris department store now has a brand new outpost on Wall Street in the Financial District. Check out the gorgeous interiors by designer Laura Gonzalez, the vintage Jean-Paul Gaultier couture display, the landmarked Red Room by artist Hildreth Meière, and the f&b offerings overseen by Chef Gregory Gourdet, including Salon Vert and Café Jalu.

We’re not big on gatekeeping at Cherry Bombe, but if there’s one place we want to keep to ourselves, it’s the East Village’s Rosemary Home, one of the most charming housewares shops in all of New York. The shelves are artfully filled with vintage finds, including Murano glass items, adorable salt & pepper shakers, even alabaster chess sets in the colors of your dreams. Rosemary’s window displays alone are worth the trip.

Leave room in your suitcase because you’ll no doubt find something you covet at Katherine Lewin’s retail hot spot, which has locations in the West Village and Greenpoint. There are the signature Big Night items, like festive scented candles and wine glasses with colorful stems, to pantry must-haves, including Fishwife tinned treats and Brightland olive oil and vinegar.

East Fork of Asheville, North Carolina, has made its way to Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Stop by and check out their highly coveted pottery in a range of hues, including the new perfect-for-spring purple shade, Prune. We love the East Fork mugs and won’t drink our tea out of anything else.

Every chef worth her knife collection loves this shop in Alphabet City, owned by Atef Boulaabi. Pick up teas, dried flowers, Japanese pantry essentials, and the spices and spice blends that have made Atef a favorite of culinary pros around the city–and around the world.

BOOKSTORES
One thing is for sure: The Bombesquad loves books! Be sure to visit one of our favorite NYC bookstores and pick up a new cookbook, like Zaynab Issa’s Third Culture Cooking, or food memoir, like Laurie Woolever’s latest bestseller Care and Feeding.
