Bricia Lopez
Bricia Lopez is a chef, entrepreneur, acclaimed author, and a staunch figure in the Los Angeles food scene. She is a partner at Guelaguetza Restaurant, recipient of the James Beard America's Classics Award, and praised by the late L.A. Times food critic Jonathan Gold as “the best Oaxacan restaurant in the United States.”
Bricia has authored two cookbooks: OAXACA: Home Cooking From the Heart of Mexico, which became an instant Amazon bestseller and earned a 2020 James Beard nomination, and Asada, named one of the best cookbooks of 2023 by The New York Times.
In collaboration with her siblings, she launched two nationally distributed brands: the bottled cocktail mix I Love Micheladas™️ and the Guelaguetza™️ mole starters. Through her work, Bricia continues to honor her heritage, inspire others, and foster connections through food. Her passion for Oaxaca extends beyond the kitchen, actively promoting the culture, traditions, and spirit of her beloved homeland in everything she does.
