SIT WITH US
Chef Eileen Andrade and her team at Amelia’s 1931 in Miami kicked off the 2024 season of our Sit With Us community dinners with OpenTable. She and Cherry Bombe founder Kerry Diamond welcomed the guests, a mix of local chefs, pastry chefs, entrepreneurs, and regulars, with a quick Q&A about the restaurant, the influence of Eileen’s abuela Amelia, and the connection between the decor and the food.
Eileen, who also oversees Finka Table & Tap and Barbakoa by Finka, is especially proud of Amelia’s beverage program, so guests enjoyed two welcome cocktails: the Bramble with gin, crème de mure, and lemon juice, and the n/a Dejavu with passion fruit, lemon, tomato water, and dill.
The five-course family-style meal featured tuna nikkei tiradito; conchitas á la parmesana with kimchi seared scallops; boniato gnocchi with roasted rocoto; and braised short ribs over a bed of roasted rainbow carrots and aji amarillo mashed potatoes; and Amelia’s tiramisu.
Guests stayed and mingled after dessert, then everyone left with a copy of the new Icons Issue of Cherry Bombe Magazine and a special tote bag.
