Tara Thomas
Tara Thomas is based in New York City and Norway. She believes food is a medium to communicate, and through her creative hospitality production studio Chaotic Abundance, hospitality is the motive and the ultimate dance of the love language acts of service.
Tara is currently directing food and hospitality at Commune Cafe & Wine Bar in Brooklyn and she was the creative producer of Woldy Reyes’ In the Kusina cookbook, which was featured on the cover of Vogue Italia, in Cherry Bombe, Vogue, Kinfolk, and more.
Tara believes food is a vehicle for justice—to heal, to nourish, and to empower folks to find purpose in their communities. When it comes down to it, nourishment is something we all require to survive. When we eat, it is our greatest vote towards the land, our bodies, and what defines our collective state. She facilitates and advocates for this across all of her mediums of craft. Whether it’s through hospitality experiences, community-centered events, or mutual aid—Tara believes in feeding the community to fuel the movement.
