A Southern California native, Kwini is at the forefront of bringing New American cuisine to California with her husband and business partner, Michael Reed. Alongside Michael, Kwini is the driving force behind A Table for Two Hospitality, which includes her and her husband’s downtown Los Angeles brunch spot Poppy + Rose, Anaheim-based seasonal restaurant Poppy & Seed, and their New American upscale catering company, Root of All Food, serving the greater LA area.
A leader at heart, Kwini is a member of James Beard's Women Entrepreneurial Leadership, a fellowship for food-industry entrepreneurs with Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. She is also a board member for the California Restaurant Association's LA Chapter and is an integral member of Regarding Her, a national non-profit on a mission to empower and advance all women identifying food and drink entrepreneurs by way of innovative platforms.
Deeply passionate about serving the community, Kwini and Michael Reed’s philanthropic efforts include meal donations to local shelters, support of first responders, social justice causes, youth development programs and more. Both Kwini and Chef Michael work closely with No Kid Hungry, a national campaign striving to end childhood hunger, and the pair additionally lead the Coalition for College, an organization with the mission to teach underprivileged community members marketable skills to run a profitable restaurant. They also started a nonprofit, the UNI Coalition: We’re in This Together.
When not running a national hospitality company, Kwini can be found on the speaking and conference circuit, inspiring business owners with her story and motivating them to keep working hard and striving for their personal vision.
