Cherry Bombe is honored to announce that Gloria Steinem is our closing speaker at this year’s Jubilee conference, taking place Saturday, April 12th, in New York City.

 

 

Roxana Jullapat is a Los Angeles–born baker of Costa Rican and Thai descent who first studied journalism before finding her true calling in the kitchen. Over the past two decades, she has worked at some of L.A.’s most celebrated, women-led restaurants, including Campanile and AOC. In 2017, she opened Friends & Family, where every loaf of bread, morning pastry, and decadent cookie reflects her love of regional grains and California seasonality. She also oversees Friends & Family Pizza Co. and the brand new Friends & Family Silver Lake Outpost.

 

Her first cookbook, Mother Grains: Recipes for the Grain Revolution (W.W. Norton, 2021), was nominated by both the James Beard Foundation and IACP. Her forthcoming book, Morning Baker: Recipes and Rituals for Breakfast and Beyond, will be published in April 2026.

 

Roxana lives in a craftsman bungalow in Silver Lake with her husband and business partner, chef Daniel Mattern, and their sweet cat, Gilbert.
