Stella Dennig
Stella Dennig was the co-owner and general manager of Daytrip, a now-closed Oakland restaurant that gained acclaim for its fermentation-driven menu and commitment to equitable employment practices. Daytrip earned praise from Bon Appétit, The New York Times, and SF Chronicle, and was named one of Bon Appétit's Top 10 Best New Restaurants in 2022. Co-owner/Chef Finn Stern was also named a 2024 James Beard Semifinalist. In May 2025, Stella and co-owner Finn Stern will open Daytrip Counter, their next concept, which embraces flavor maximalism with a focus on spit-roasted chicken, bold and inventive salads, bowls, sandwiches, and delicious sides—all designed with a health-conscious and affordable approach.
